Chess RVA teaches scholastic chess throughout the Greater Richmond area, offering chess instruction and supervised play. Research shows that chess improves math, reading and problem-solving skills, while providing an added benefit of fun. Gabrielle (Gabby) Carder is the designer and craftswoman at Bra Full of Sawdust, LLC currently located in Ashland, VA. She helps design your custom piece, select the proper material for your project, and build it from start to finish.
We run massive public tabletop roleplaying events. The hardest part of being a grownup D&D fan is how difficult it is to get 5+ people together once a week to roll some dice, trigger some traps, and fight some monsters. We brought D&D back to the people by bringing it to breweries and restaurants.

This meetup group was founded to bring together tabletop board and card game players. Our members include gamers in the Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Prince George, Fort Lee and Chester areas, and we hold meetups in various locations in these communities, from members' residences to public forums and local restaurants. We typically offer one or two gaming options per week.
The RVA Family Friendly Board Gaming Community. Started in 2021, our Board gaming community in Richmond Virginia promotes a family friendly atmosphere where adults (and kids if they would like!) can learn or enjoy the hobby of board gaming while we have activities and space for kids to play.

Many people who attend play with jokers and some play without. There are no "house rules" so rules are decided by the table you join. Don't be surprised if you hear something new! (We've heard it all, lol.)
This group is based in the southside Richmond area, but we have meetups in the surrounding counties as well. Venue recommendations are always appreciated.

Mordrün is a board game for 2+ players and ages from 6+ (young children may require some adult help along the way). Play time can be anywhere from 5 mins to 2 hours depending on the number of players, luck, and play style. At its core, it is a classic murder mystery game. However, it incorporates a flair of RPG play style that opens up the game play to a variety of styles. No session is ever the same.
